a collaboration by Ruslan Boyarin (field recordings), Klaus Erika Dietl (bass synthesizer, field recordings), Armelle Marcadé (vocals), Laura Melis Theis (voice performance), Stephanie Müller aka Rag Treasure (field recordings, production, voice performance), Carla Zuccon (voice performance), Fabian Zweck (field recordings)
The collaboration is based on Armelle Marcadè's free interpretation of „Shnirele Perele“. „Shnirele Perele“ is a song with Yiddish lyrics. In 1901 it appeared for the first time in the anthology „Evreiskiia narodnyia piesni v Rossii“ edited by Saul Ginsburg und Petr Marek in Saint Petersburg.
Armelle Marcadè used to have a recording of „Shnirele Perele“ on a cassette when she was in high school. Armelle is based in Bordeaux, France. There she is part of the band „Chocolat Billy“. On their album „attraper n'anoun“ Armelle's original interpretation „collier de perles“ can be found.
